FansBRANDS is a prominent reseller of official Formula 1 merchandise, serving an expansive audience across Europe. Known for their extensive collection of Formula 1 apparel and accessories, they aimed to enhance their digital footprint and accessibility by venturing into mobile commerce.

Challenges

The client needed a mobile solution to cater to their vast user base who primarily shop on-the-go. Their requirements included multi-language support, region-specific content delivery, and a seamless integration of web store functionalities into mobile platforms.

Solution

Leveraging our unique service, TRAVLRD Online Store Conversion, we transformed their Shopify-powered web store into native-like iOS and Android applications. The conversion focused on maintaining the web shop's aesthetic while optimizing for mobile efficiency and engagement.

Technical Execution

  1. Localization and Language Support: Developed an automatic localization feature that detects the user’s region and displays content in one of the 13 available languages or defaults to English when the specific language isn't available.
  2. Custom Mobile Enhancements:
    • Push Notifications: Utilized Firebase to implement customizable push notifications. Merchants can now segment notifications based on language, platform, and user preferences, enhancing targeted marketing capabilities.
    • User Preference Collection: Integrated a feature at the app's initiation requesting users to specify their favorite team and racer. This data feeds into Klaviyo, enabling precision in email marketing campaigns.
    • Promotional Wheel: Created an interactive 'spin-to-win' feature, exclusive to the app, which encourages web users to download the app to claim their prizes, driving app downloads and user engagement.
    • App and Play Store Submissions: We submitted the apps to the Stores, created the store screenshots and handled the process for the client, so they didn't had to deal with it.
    • Mobile Specific Designs: We custom designed the mobile app's icon, loading screen, no-internet screen, and other mobile-specific designs.
